The Lake Mills Police Department is now accepting donations for the purchase of a police K-9. Over $30,000 is needed in order to buy the dog, train a dog and handler, and equip a K-9 squad car. The dog will be utilized to locate drugs, find lost people, and to protect the officer. Funds can be donated by sending a check to the Lake Mills Police Department, 200A Water Street, Lake Mills, WI 53551. The K-9 will be named after Lake Mills Fire Fighter Chris Truman who lost his life on New Year’s Eve 2018 helping a motorist who spun out on the beltline. We hope to have “Truman” on the road in fall of 2019. Thank you for your support! — Chief Mick Selck
